We have ten days to go until Cortes Day, and I am still in search of a few enthusiastic souls who would be willing to volunteer their time in order to make this event happen!
Today’s post is mainly about the Cortes Day parade. This colourful event provides residents and local businesses a chance to dress up, show off their creativity, and have fun! When I was younger, I would always enjoy decorating my bicycle so I could ride it down the hill alongside all the other participants.
Currently, I do not have a parade organizer to assist with the coordination of this fun and lively tradition. I am looking for someone who would be willing to put call outs to the community, find and organize floats, and be on Smelt Bay Hill on the morning of the 20th to organize the parade-goers and breathe some life and energy into the whole procession.
If you would be willing to be our fearless parade leader, please email mansonshallgmail.com or call Alma at 935-0235. I will provide information and support as necessary to help anyone successfully fill this role. Time is of the essence here, and I would be very sorry to see this event slip through the cracks as it is great fun for the whole community.
I hope to see you all down at Smelt Bay on July 20th!
