There are a couple of public reviews of BC forestry going on this month, for practices on both crown and private lands (links far below).

As there are many people unfamiliar with public consultations on forestry, a group in Courtenay have organized an on-line event, "BC Forestry public consultation process, 101" on July 11th at 6:30 to get up to speed on this. Information below. If there are those who would like to participate in this event on-line as a group, please send me an email and perhaps we could organize something together at Manson's Hall if its available.

The event:
Video chat and Q&A by Sierra Club BC campaigner Jens Wieting on July 11 at the Public Library meeting room in Courtenay, 6:30 – 8:00 pm (300 6th St.) Seating is limited. Get more details and RSVP on Facebook, or by emailing

The discussion will also be streamed live as a webinar online. To watch it on your computer or device, sign in at 6:30pm at this link:

To call in and listen on your phone, dial 1-647-558-0588 and enter the Meeting ID: 191-680-581
