FOCI - Kate Maddigan
FOCI’s Transportation Committee is delighted to be launching a new Room for Rider mirror tag to assist local ride-sharing across Quadra.

If you are in the ferry line-up and have room and willingness to share your ride, you can hang the Room for Rider mirror tag from your rear-view mirror. If you are looking for a ride, then begin by asking folks who are proudly displaying their Room for Rider mirror tags!

Some of you will remember the older “Green Rider“ car sticker FOCI promoted years ago. This new and updated removable tag version gives drivers the option to choose when they offer rides.

It is hoped the mirror tags will help more people find rides across Quadra while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, ferry overloads, and costs for people too.

You can pick up a mirror tag and explanatory brochure at the Post Offices, Mansons
Hall, and the FOCI office. They are in limited supply so please take only one per household. Donations to FOCI are welcome. You can also download the brochure attached.

A big thank you to Hollyhock, the Cortes Natural Food Coop, and Gorge Harbour Marina
for sponsoring this exciting initiative.

The FOCI Transportation Committee is working to increase Cortes Islanders’ mobility, while reducing climate impacts. If you would like more information, please email, or call the FOCI office 250 935 0087.

What a great idea, the thought of having to ask around and not knowing many people makes my tummy hurt! I have cancelled trips in to Campbell River because of it, even with a pink slip ferry pass waiting to be used.
