LOOKING FOR HOSTS FOR SENIORS’ LUNCHEONS

Seniors Helping Seniors is organizing weekly lunches or Seniors (50+) throughout the year. We usually go to cafes, Hollyhock In the shoulder season, Manson’s Hall, or peoples’ homes. For luncheons in the hall and in homes we have one of our great island cooks catering.

Since several of our regular venues can’t host anymore, we are looking for some new hosts. This involves getting the home ready to receive around 14-20 at 12 noon for one and a half to two hours, on a weekday. SHS provides the catering, coffee, tea, etc. The coordinator of SHS will come earlier to make coffee and tea, set tables, and lend a hand. Who does the dishes depends on your preference.

Would you be willing to host once or twice a year? Depending on the weather, it could be either inside or out, if shade can be provided.Any questions can be answered or discussed, you would also be welcomed to attend a seniors lunch to check it out.

The cost of a lunch is $14 for non-members, of the Seniours Society, and a sliding scale of $10-14 for members. Hosts don’t pay when they are hosting a meal.

New members are always welcome. A membership is only $10 a year. Feel free to call Carina (Coordinator for SHS) at 6793 for more info. We look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you very much.
