Cortes Day is coming up on July 20th, and I hope you’re as excited as we are! My name is Alma and I will be returning as the Volunteer Coordinator for Cortes Day this year. This will be a big transition year for us, as many of our beloved core volunteers are not able to return to the team. As a result, I am looking for some motivated people to help us coordinate some Cortes Day traditions such as Nail Sail Bail, the Cake Walk, the Parade, the SCCA food stand, and many other key events.
In addition to the roles mentioned above, we will also need volunteers to help with set-up, tear down, gear delivery, and other general (but very important!) tasks.
I am especially keen on getting some other young people on board as volunteers. For years, the same lovely people have been putting in a lot of hard work to make this day a success, and now I feel that it’s time to step up and give them a well-earned break. I know that a lot of us have special memories of Cortes Day from when we were kids, and I want to be able to give the next generation the same great experience that we had.
If you're willing and able to help me bring this day to life, please email me at mansonshallgmail.com or call 250-935-0235 and ask for Alma. I look forward to seeing you all at Smelt Bay on July 20th!
