This Saturday, June 8 is... World Oceans Day!

Just over 70% of our planet is covered in ocean.
This inspired Arthur C. Clarke to write, "How inappropriate to call this planet Earth, when clearly it is Ocean."

Did you know that in every second breath you take, the oxygen was produced by phytoplankton in the ocean?
Take time this Saturday, June 8, to stop and wiggle your toes in the ocean and give... THANKS!

and......you can also celebrate World Oceans Day by stopping by Cortes Wild! at the Linnaea Education Center, 10am - 2pm this Saturday, to check out the new ocean displays celebrating our subtidal biodiversity and the humpback whale comeback!
