Island Crafts - Pottery & Ceramics
I began making pottery five years ago, at the age of 55, during the quiet days of the COVID pandemic.
Like many, I was looking for something meaningful and grounding. I found it in clay. Pottery had always held a special place in my memory. I took a class in high school, and it was one of the few arts I genuinely enjoyed-and was pretty good at. Picking it up again after so many years felt like reconnecting with an old friend. I'm mostly self-taught and I enjoy exploring shapes, textures, and especially color.
I love experimenting with glazes and unusual combinations to create pieces that feel both unique and useful.

My wife, Ginger, and I spend our summers in Whaletown, a place we've come to love over the last fifteen years with our three sons and our two big yellow labs. The quiet beauty of the island and the rhythm of life here continues to inspire much of my work. Each piece I make is crafted by hand and made with care.

I hope it brings warmth, color, and creativity into your everyday life.
