Artwork - Cards
I was born on the east coast of Canada, went to Montreal in Art at College St. Laurent for 2 years, with the intention to go further into art therapy for children. In school I studied many
forms of arts, from acrylic to oil painting, to graphic design, sculptures, collage, photography and art history.
I came to BC at 20, met my husband shortly after and we went travelling for a few years, deeply searching for myself and the meaning of life. We settled in BC, on Cortes since 2001,
and have 4 children together, and grandchildren. For many years, my creativity was all funneled into my children’s life and wellbeing, with homeschooling them. We did many creative endeavours together.
My life became my creation. I started taking my children to art class in Lisa Gibbons’ studio, and then soon enough I was able to find the time to get there myself...I studied more deeply watercolour with Doug Weyler, along with one of my daughters for a couple of years.
I love creating beauty in my life, in my home and in my gardens. For me, making art is one way to also express this beauty. I get inspired by Mother Nature and when I am dancing. I love the
challenges that mixed media present, it also gives me a real sense of freedom; like opening a book to an infinite dream world. I also love working with watercolour, losing myself in the present of fluidity.
I am part of an art group here on the island, “The Thursday Afternoon Art Collective” which has been a great source of inspiration for me over the years.
