Anastasia works in borosilicate glass, shaping each piece by hand in the flame in a tiny-home studio in Whaletown. She uses a workbench torch, sculpting tools and gravity, in the tradition called flameworking that traces its roots to ancient Egypt and the Italian Renaissance — now experiencing a modern resurgence.

Her sculptures and figurines are popular as gifts, talismans, altar pieces and decorations that add joy and color into any space. Borosilicate glass is also known as scientific glass, making these pieces durable enough to last a lifetime or longer, with a little care.
