The CNFC driveway construction begins on Monday, February 11th. The current driveway will be closed and removed, so please park on the road or at the Hall. Flagging tape and cones will be in place as reminders and for the safety of the workers and shoppers. We anticipate this project taking up to a week. Thanks for your patience.
29/1 In early February, we will begin the next (and final) stage of completing the new driveway for the Coop. The newly created access will be topped with crush and leveled out near the road to provide a safe area for vehicles to stop and check for oncoming traffic without spinning their tires. As part of the permitting process, we are required to restore the old access to it's original state. By doing this, we will be able to reclaim a lot of the gravel we have dumped there over the years, and reduce the amount of new crush needed.
In order to help address the drainage issue at the Beasley Road intersection, a ditch will be created parallel to Sutil Road below the walkway and cedar trees. Please refer to the map that is located on the bulletin board outside the south doors of the Coop. Water will be directed into a drainpipe to carry it away from the parking lot. We will also be relocating the Dogwood tree to an area near the Smoke Shack and removing the tires and soil to increase the parking closer to the store and replace the spots lost by the new driveway construction. We have consulted an arborist and will be doing our very best to ensure this tree is replanted with utmost care. The small fig tree next to the wellhead will not be affected.
To safely do this work, the parking lot will be closed for up to one week. Cones and flagging tape will be set up to prevent cars from entering, although the walkway will be open as well as parking along Sutil Road, with the Hall lot as a temporary alternative. We apologize for this inconvenience, and will keep you posted for the exact closure dates. The access via Austin road will occasionally be open for deliveries and tenants.
