The Cortes Literacy Small Seed Grant Program is currently accepting applications for programs to run starting immediately or anytime in early 2019. DEADLINE TO RECEIVE APPLICATIONS IS NOW Monday Dec. 10th 2018. Want to learn more or get help applying? Email the Manda the Cortes LIteracy Coordinator.
Paper copies of the grant are available at Manson's Post Office for those who need them.
Have an idea for building community on Cortes through literacy…. let us help give you the space, funds, or connections to get you started.
We are seeking projects that reach and/or teach the unexpected, the under-served, or otherwise delight.
Cortes community members and organizations are invited to apply for “seed grant” funding to help start or continue new literacy projects. They are seed grants because we hope these small grants will grow roots and stems, nurturing our community. To learn more about Cortes Literacy and how we are helping to building community through literacy visit www.folku.ca

If you have an idea you’d like to try-out you might also consider teaching a Folk University brown-bag lunch session. Or, if you have already done this or want to go deeper, there are a number of subjects that have been quite popular and have requests for more in-depth learning opportunities. Just a few of these include: cursive handwriting, Economics 101, woodworking for women (or any beginner), computer class 200 level, game playing 101 (for non-computer games), an (alternative) history of Canada, DIY and handworks classes, teen programming, and reconciliation 101. Got an idea? Apply now at https://folku.ca/project/seed-grants/
Proposals are due Monday December 10th. https://folku.ca/project/seed-grants/
