Samhein has just launched us into the first week of the winter season and it is a great time to head off into the Children's Forest for a day of exploration!
The recent rains are greening the forest, James Creek is singing again and the last of the snow geese are southbound overhead!

Pack a good lunch and a jug of water and join me for a walk on the wild side!

Nature Study Days occur the first Sunday of every month throughout the year. We meet at the Carrington Bay Road trailhead and head out at 10am, returning to the trailhead around 3pm.
Everyone on two legs is welcome; we ask that you leave your four-legged companions at home as we respect the wildlife that calls this wild place home.

We walk in the Children's Forest every month to nurture a relationship between ourselves and the forest and to foster place-based, experiential education in our youth.

Nature Study Days are sponsored by the Forest Trust for the Children of Cortes Island Society/ FTCCIS; check us out at www.corteschildrensforest
