FOCI - Helen
You are invited to an afternoon celebrating salmon and Basil Creek on Saturday, November 3, 12:00 to 3:00 pm (drop-in). We are calling on the rain gods to swell the creeks once again and call in the November chum.
The landowners on both sides of Basil Creek have given permission for a tour of the creek restoration work that was completed in the fall of September 2017, so this is a one-time opportunity to walk the lower part of the creek and view the work.
Come and meet some of the local streamkeepers, who will be on site to answer question you may have on spawning chum and what streamkeepers do. And hopefully, there will be decent numbers of chum moving into Basil Creek for you to see too.
This is a FOCI/Streamkeeper sponsored event.
Directions: Park by the Cove Restaurant at Squirrel Cove, and meet at mouth of the creek (walk along the beach around the front of the restaurant to access it).
Please keep dogs at home.
This activity will run come rain or shine!!!
