The All-Island Book Club (ALL AGES!)
This month the All-Island YA book club (for all ages) is reading a Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle. Let the trials and tribulations of the awkward, difficult, and determined Meg Murray renew your since of hope that heroes can come in all sizes, ages, and abilities. An inter-galactic hero story written in the 1960s that continues to be among my favourite all-time reads. Come see why I and the youth of Lit Club love this book. If you get inspired we recommend you to also read one or more of the rest of the series and the graphic novel too.
The Lit Club hosts this monthly book club for Cortesians of all ages to discuss novels together. The novels are mostly considered Young Adult but include a trove of some of the best literature being published today.
The All-island Book Club meets at Linnaea at 1p.m. on these Tuesdays:
11/13 (A Wrinkle in Time novel and graphic novel, supplement reading available)
11/27 El Deafo the graphic novel by CeCe Bell
12/18 These Are My Words: The Residential School Diary of Violet Pesheens a Dear Canada book by Ruby Slipperjack
10/9 (Anne of Green Gables, supplemental reading available)
