This is a brief update to offer some clarity on process. The Cortes Zoning Bylaw, that so many of you took great care to help improve, will be before the Strathcona Regional District Board on October 10th. I have every confidence from speaking with staff and my fellow elected colleagues that at that time the Bylaw will be defeated. Once this happens, it will come back to you for further work. Please note that until the 10th, as your elected representative I legally cannot discuss the substance of the bylaw with anyone, receive your comment or share with you mine. After the Bylaw has been defeated, I will share my perspective and commitments on its content. Until then, I appreciate your continued patience. All of your letters of input and the minutes from the public hearing, capturing your verbal input, will be on the SRD website on Friday October 5th on the Board Agenda page.
