There were not enough chairs to seat everyone for the reading of a short story by local author Monica Nawrocki at the Old Schoolhouse Gallery on Friday night. She read “A Tug at my Heart” that accompanied the tug boat platter I made. It was a great amount of fun to create something together like that and I can only hope for more collaboration in the future!

Janny Thompson gave a mono print demo after the reading and many people left the gallery enthusiastic to go home and try it themselves.

A huge Thank You to all the volunteers that keep the gallery up and running and in such great shape and to all the people that have visited our show. Your support for the Cortes art community is very much appreciated!

Today is our last day of the show Layers. The gallery is open from 2-6. Come visit us!

Monica Nawrocki is the author of "Full Moon Lagoon" and "Thanks for chucking that at the wall instead of me: Teaching At-Risk Children and Youth". Her books are available in our local stores and online
