The Cortes Island Museum would like to know!Do you have a drawer full of weird
and wonderful odds and ends? Perhaps you have a collection of butterfly wings, or strange looking bones, or maybe vintage teacups, or mysterious fossils, or any kind of curious items you think others might find interesting? Do you have something puzzling and are wondering what it was used for?
The Museum would like to see your treasures and possibly make them part of the Curiouser and Curiouser
exhibit coming this fall.Kids:
Here is your chance to show off your special collection of shells, rocks, your favourite Lego designs, or, perhaps, your action figures. Whatever you might be interested in the Museum could borrow your collection and display it for a couple of weeks, as part of the Curiouser and Curiouser
To varying degrees we are all “hoarders.” Think about your special interests and obsessions and consider lending some of your gems to the Museum as a show-and-tell for our many visitors. Entire collections or single special objects are all of interest and can be put on display for short or longer periods of time. For inspiration:
Check out the Curiosity Cabinet and its accompanying literature located right now in the Museum’s side-room, or view the example in the Wild Cortes exhibit at Linnaea Farm. The Museum would like to borrow glass-fronted cabinets
for use in this exhibit. Please let us know if you have one to lend.
