WILD CORTES is open during summer on Tuesday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday & Saturday 12 to 4 p.m. at the Linnaea Farm Education Centre, 1255 Seaford Road.
Take a stroll on the wild side of Cortes Island to see mounted specimens from a dragonfly to a giant hornet nest to Raven’s Relations to eagles to a baby beaver and seals. Compare skulls, marvel at a Curiosity Cabinet, try on costumes of endangered species, peruse our in-house library, put a puzzle of Cortes watersheds together, get eye-to-eye with eagles and a heron, and find out what’s raiding an oystercatcher’s nest!
We acknowledge the support of BC Museums Association, Heritage BC and BC Canada 150.
Entrance is down the steps near Linnaea’s front door with a handicap entrance down the Library ramp. Admission is by donation.
Do animals and ecology interest you? Wild Cortes is looking for volunteers to host our exhibit. Training happily provided. Call the Museum or Lynne Jordan at 250-935-6472.
