A
big thank-you from FOCI to everyone who sent in their sightings of the Common Nighthawk! We had a total of 14 reported sightings of around 100 birds in just two weeks, spread across the island. If you keep seeing Nighthawks [
www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Common_Nighthawk/overview], we're still taking records.
The Common Nighthawk is one of sixteen species at risk that is found on Cortes Island and FOCI wants to know more about these critters! Please refer to the attached poster to see the other species at risk. If you spot any of them, FOCI would love to hear about it! Send us and e-mail at friendsofcortesgmail.com and be sure to include the species
name, how many you saw, the date, the time, the location and if you happen to
snap a photo send that along as well!
Thanks for helping keep Cortes wild & beautiful!
