As island residents, you are undoubtedly aware that housing, or the lack thereof, is a huge issue for so many in our community.

We are delighted to tell you of a housing initiative and collaboration between the Cortes Island Seniors Society (CISS) and the Cortes Island Foundation (CIF).

The CISS has bought 51 acres in downtown Manson’s Landing in order to provide the ground on which to build affordable rental homes and to meet other community housing needs.

It is exciting, daunting, inspiring and as is often the case, a work of many hands, voices and hearts. Learn more by clicking on the weblink below and REGISTER your name onto the wait-list for future year-round housing.

Good for Cortes! This is what we need everywhere. People helping themselves and their neighbours! Housing that fits the needs of the community. A great example.
Such exciting news!
