On February 16th, 2018 Quadra RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Cortes Island for having no insurance. The driver displayed symptoms if impairment due to alcohol. The driver provided two breath samples that both registered a Fail reading (Excess of 100MGS of alcohol). The driver was issued a 90 Day Immediate Roadside Prohibition from driving. It was also discovered that the driver never had a valid drivers licence. The driver was also issued a violation ticket and another driving prohibition.

Its tax time again, and coincidentally the Quadra Island RCMP are receiving numerous reports that the Canada Revenue Scam is still on going. Several people have called and advised that they still keep getting phone calls from people posing as Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). The fake Canada Revenue Agent will advise that you owe money and may even go so far to say that you will be arrested if you don't pay them. They will then ask for payment using gift cards and/or Itunes cards. There is a similar Canada Revenue Scam in Alberta which is using Emails which appear to be from the Canada Revenue Agency but in reality it is not. Please pass this on to your friends and neighbours so no one will fall victim to this or other types of scams. If you are in doubt that something is a scam please call the Quadra RCMP before you send anyone your money.

On February 17th, 2018 Quadra RCMP received a report of large wood log tongs that were lost possibly in the Bold Point area. If you find them please contact the Quadra RCMP so we can reunite them with the owner.

If you have any information regarding an incident or crime please contact the Quadra RCMP at 250-285-3631 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
