The purpose of writing is different for everyone. Cortes Island’s Young Writer’s Prize challenges young writers on Cortes Island to explore their own purpose for writing.

If you are a resident of Cortes Island aged 10 - 16 please submit a piece of writing to be eligible!

If you don't already have enough reason to write two cash prizes will be awarded to the winner of each age category. Second and third place in each category will receive gift cards to Marnie’s Books.

The categories are ages 10 - 12 & 13 - 16. Age categories will be reviewed separately.
