Tru Value Foods is a long time supporter of the BC Cancer Foundation and the BC Cancer Agency on Vancouver Island. We recently committed $50,000 to help raise the funds needed to bring a Pet/CT scanner to the BC Cancer Agency on Vancouver Island.
There are currently only two publicly funded PET/CT scanners in B.C., both located in Vancouver. Over 1500 Gulf & Vancouver Islanders have to travel to Vancouver each year for a PET/CT scan they’re counting on to save their lives. Many more are too unwell or don’t have the support network to make the trip. We feel it is important to help make it easier for all in our community to receive this treatment should they need it.

Spirit Board

Tru Value Foods knows about being a good neighbour. Each of our stores contributes to its home community through the Spirit Board, a program we launched in 2001. The program directs 1% of sales to the customer’s group of choice. Many Cortes Island groups and organizations are participants in this program.

Once a community group has been approved for the Spirit Board, it receives ongoing donations in the form of food vouchers and resellable food cards. These donations are significant for the community groups – just ask them, and you’ll hear how Tru Value has benefited their many programs.

Tru Value Foods is a sponsor of the Tideline, you can find our weekly specials here

Editors note: Our 2017 feature for sponsors; when sponsors renew their yearly sponsorship they can post and article about their business in this section.
