General News · 7th July 2017
Cortes Days is July 15th and kicks off with the parade, so come on down and join in the fun! Everyone is welcome to march, hoopla, drive, or shake ‘n’ shimmy your way through it. Dress up, dress down, be a clown, just don’t frown. And for the wee ones - decorate your bicycle, tricycle, unicycle or come as you are and meet along Smelt Bay Rd (you’ll see the sign). All other participants meet on Potlatch Rd at 10:30. The parade starts at 11:00.
There is a slight alteration to the parade route this year. Instead of ending in the small parking area, we will turn left to head toward the overflow parking and campsites.

I am so excited to read this since it is my first Cortes Days since moving here last year! I wanted to walk in the parade with my big HUGE feather headdress and goddess costume but was not sure of the protocol (some may have seen the costume at the Adult Cabaret!). I will come out in full costume for everyone! Kid friendly character in effect :) I have used this costume in the Vancouver Pride Parade several years ago and it was a hit!
She is quite a magical person...I am sure yall will appreciate her.
Free Store Fashion Show
Comment by Patricia L on 8th July 2017
As part of the parade, I am instigating a walking fashion show using clothes or whatevers from the free store. Go on in to the free store and make an outfit for yourself - should be comfortable and amazing! No pressure. Gender neutral, age neutral, gluten free FUN. Meet on Potlatch Rd. at 10:30 you sill see the sign for the Free Store participants.
