On May 12th, 2017 Quadra RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a male in Squirrel Cove. The male had been consuming alcohol earlier in the day. The male provided breath samples into two different approved screening devices both resulting in a FAIL reading. The male was issued a 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) from driving as well as a violation ticket for not having a valid drivers licence.

On May 12th, 2017 Quadra RCMP received a report in which the victim lost several hundred dollars in a computer scam. The suspect was calling from a New York area code and gained access to the victims computer. The scam artist then convinced the victim to buy several hundred dollars in Itunes gift cards and the card numbers were then given to the suspect. Quadra RCMP would like to remind the public that there are many different types of scams out there trying to get your hard earned money. One of the indicators of a scam like this is when the scam artist asks for money in the form of Itunes gift cards. Normal reputable companies do not ask for Itunes gift cards for payment. If you have any doubts call the Quadra RCMP before you part with your money.

On May 9th, 2017 Quadra RCMP and Quadra Fire Department responded to a logging truck accident on Heriot Bay road by Taku road on Quadra Island. The logging truck was travelling on Heriot Bay road and had its grappling hook up which caught the power lines. The power lines were pulled down and a fire resulted which was dealt with by Quadra Fire department. The driver did receive a shock and was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures but was relatively uninjured.

On May 6th, 2017 Quadra RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a person operating a motorcycle in Heriot Bay. The person was prohibited from driving and was issued an appearance notice to attend court and the motorcycle was impounded.
