Bring your homemade floating creation to a community celebration of light at Mansonís Lagoon spit on Friday, December 30, at 5:00 pm. Young and old, locals and visitors, but please leave 4-legged friends at home.
Make sure that your boat or creation is earth-friendly: use wood, paper bags, tissue paper; you can replace the aluminum casing around tealights with shortened toilet paper rolls. Be simple or elaborate; tealights on a flat board work well. Bring matches and wear gumboots. The tide will be high, so boats can be launched inside or outside the lagoon off Mansonís spit.
Please park in the parking lot to keep car lights off the lagoon and minimize erosion around the lagoon shore.
May the light return and illuminate.
