What an incredible evening! The Cortes Museum & Archives extends a huge thank you to Paul Stamets for his engaging presentation on the Agarikon mushroom, to Hannu for ensuring the sound and production went smoothly… and to all the folks who came out to enjoy this event on a warm summer night. Paul, a mycologist, author, medical researcher and founder of Fungi Perfecti shared his philosophy that “BioDiversity is BioSecurity”. Paul is passionate about preserving and protecting Old Growth forests and the mushrooms that grow there. His leading edge research may hold the key to show how fungi can improve the health of people and the planet. If you missed Paul’s presentation you can learn about the Agarikon mushroom at the Museum’s new exhibit “The Fir, The Fungus, and The Fallers: The Story of the Big Tree”.
