On August 3rd, 2016 Quadra RCMP received a report of a suspicious camp that appeared to have been abandoned in Von Donop Inlet. While police were in Von Donop they located a vessel that was stuck on a rock awash and required assistance. The RCMP , with the help of another vessel , were able to pull the vessel to safety.
On August 4th, 2016 Quadra RCMP attended to a single vehicle motor vehicle accident with no injuries. The driver of the vehicle involved provided breath samples into an approved screening device which resulted in a FAIL reading (Excess of 100Mgs). The driver was issued a 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) from driving and the vehicle was impounded.
On August 5th, 2016 RCMP conducted road checks on Cortes Island. Police issued two 90 Day Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (IRPs) to two different drivers who provided samples of their breath that resulted in a FAIL reading (Excess of 100Mgs)
On August 5th, 2016 Quadra RCMP were alerted to several youth starting a fire and partying by the Quathiaski Cove Ferry terminal. Police located the youth who were very respectful and apologetic. Police still ruined their party by pouring out all the alcohol and seizing their marihuana. No charges were laid in this matter.
On August 6th, 2016 Quadra RCMP conducted road checks on Quadra and Cortes Island. Police issued a 3 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) to a driver on Cortes Island after they provided samples of breath that registered a WARN reading (60-99MGS) . Police issued a 90 Day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) and a 24 hour driving prohibition to two different drivers on Quadra.
On August 7th, 2016 Quadra RCMP issued a 3 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) to a driver on Quadra after they provided samples of breath that registered a WARN reading on an approved screening device (60-99MGS).
On July 29th, 2016 Quadra RCMP conducted a road check on Cortes Island. RCMP issued two (2) 90 Day Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (IRPs) from driving. The drivers in both cases provided breath samples into Approved Screening Devices (ASDs) that registered a FAIL reading (Excess of 100MGS).
On July 30th, 2016 Quadra Island RCMP were called to a report of a shoplifter at Tru Value Foods in Quathiaski Cove. One male was arrested and released on documents to attend court.
On July 30th, 2016 Quadra RCMP received a request to assist Campbell River RCMP with a hit and run suspect that was on the ferry coming to Quadra. The suspect vehicle had struck another vehicle in Campbell River then left the scene without providing any information to the driver. The suspect vehicle was located by police on Quadra and the driver was identified and dealt with by police.
