Sobhana - Cortes Literacy Now
Cortes Literacy Now warmly welcomes our new Literacy Outreach Coordinator (LOC), Travis Pawlak!
Travis will be working closely with a Literacy Task Group of Cortes community members to provide a wide and meaningful array of literacy programs here on Cortes Island.
Do you have ideas for literacy programming, tutorials or workshops on Cortes? Would you like to get involved with Cortes Literacy Now? We are currently welcoming new Community Task Group members, particularly youth members (aged 12 – 18). Email Travis at cortesliteracygmail.com for more details on how to get involved.
“Literacy isn’t simply a set of skills, it’s a way of thinking. The modern world speaks to us in a constantly changing language; one that often can be difficult to comprehend. Literacy is the ability to understand the rapidly evolving world around us, and to have the ability to move confidently through it.” (Excerpt from “The Literacy Manifesto”, Decoda Literacy Solutions)
Cortes Literacy Now is supported by Decoda Literacy Solutions. We acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Education.
