Are you ready to know how old the Douglas Fir that was cut down last summer? We are finally ready to tell you.
This Sunday at the Cortes Island Museum’s Exhibit Celebration all will be revealed when we announce the winners of the Age the Tree contest. So please join us for cake and stories July 10 at 2:30pm.
If you have a story about the Bartholomew Big Tree or another big tree on the island we'd love you to share it.
After cake we invite you to wander through the exhibit gallery and learn: why this tree surrounded by logging was left standing, what was happening in the world when it first started growing, what a misery whip is, and much more.
We will also have limited edition buttons, and post cards for sale commemorating the Bartholomew Douglas Fir Tree.
