The GIANT "cookie"! A new installation under the little red roof in the Cortes Museum's Heritage Garden next to the Von Donop Logging Shed is a "cookie" slice from the Big Fir Tree that fell on Bartholomew last summer. Try to figure out when it sprang from a seed -- it's been sanded smoothe to facilitate you counting the growth rings.
An inside exhibit about this Big Tree is presently under construction in the Museum. Come, check it out, then return to see the finished exhibit later in June.
The Museum hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am - 4 pm, but the Heritage Garden (now-in full bloom!) is always open.

Check out our website www.cortesmuseum.com for more events this summer.
