Members at the Cortes Museum’s recent AGM were enthralled by murder mysteries and strange disappearances surrounding some early Cortes postmasters. Speaker Peter Smith, author & postal historian, has unearthed these and many more interesting stories he’s researched for the book he’s writing about the many small post offices from Savary Island north to Thurlow Island.

Look for Peter Smith’s exhibit featuring Cortes Island’s early postal history this summer at the Museum.
