We are pleased to announce that Briony Penn, guest speaker featured May 10th by the Cortes Museum, has just won the Roderick Haig-Brown
Regional Prize at the 2016 BC Book Prizes and
was also shortlisted for the Hubert Evans Non-fiction Prize.

Briony's book The Real Thing: The Natural History of Ian McTaggart Cowan is the first official biography of Ian McTaggart Cowan (1910–2010), the “father of Canadian ecology.” Authorized by his family and with the research support and participation of the University of Victoria Libraries, Briony Penn will share with us her knowledge of this remarkable man.

Join us at 7 PM, May 10th, Manson's Hall. Books will be available for purchase ($30). Admission by donation. Refreshments available.
