An open letter to the cortes eco forestry board,
Just got off the phone to Mainstream Environmental Consulting ,of Campbell River. You hired them with someones money to do an assessment of logging impacts upon Larsen Meadow's wet lands and riparian zones.I wanted to get a copy of the report mailed to me. However I'm told that" I would need to get that information through freedom of information." That's a quote from them. Seriously? Maybe it's just time for your board to put out the information in a Eco Friendly way. No driving, no who knows who, one easy rumour dispersing statement of facts online right here on cortes tideline. First, how much volume was harvested in Larsen's Meadow? How much money was made from the logging?Who got the money? The entire money trail stump to dump. Secondly, what are the plans for Squirrel Cove? Who, When, What, and WHY? It is after all a community forest, not a board member forest. Thirdly, I suggest all of you hold your next members meeting in Larsen's Meadow during a down pour. There's a sweet bench to sit on and watch the rain wash the mud and various bits down the new logging road to progress. It's right beside the riperian zone ...aka creek.
