Laura Ellingsen, CIS PAC
On behalf of the Cortes Island School PAC we would like to thank the Cortes Community and all the wonderful volunteers who were involved in the November bottle drive. Without you we could not make this fundraiser happen.
Big thank-yous for the amazing generosity of the Cortes Market team (especially to Bertha and Peggy Lovell), Cortes Recycling, Gorge Marina, Manson’s Hall, the Seafood Association, Cortes Paramedics and the rest of our island community for providing transportation and sorting, lending their equipment, lending a hand and donating their returnables! We would also like to thank all the parents, grandparents, and community members for lending their tenacious humour, time and trucks towards over four hours of collecting, sorting, counting, bagging and loading the bounty of bottles and cans. And last but not least, thanks to the weather for holding off the rain and storm and gracing us with sunshine!
Apologies to anyone we’ve left out and to those whose bottle donations we missed (please save them for our next great bottle drive in the spring)! Remember, we can’t do this without you and on behalf of the PAC and Cortes Island School, thank you for helping us raise funds toward enriching school activities and equipment each and every year!
With much gratitude, Cortes Island School PAC
