Island Crafts - Weaving & Fibre Art
Amy began weaving in 2002 on the shore of Gunflint lake with some aged cedar bark. Shortly after, she learned the craft of willow weaving from Allister Hesseltine from Hornby Island. Preferring the quality of cedar, Amy found a teacher in Massett, Haida Gwaii that was willing to share her knowledge of both harvesting and weaving. That was 2011. Since then, Amy has returned each year to increase her skills and stay connected to art world of the Haida FN. She teaches on Cortes and in Vancouver, providing a range of materials, styles and projects to anyone wanting to explore their creativity.
