ELECTION 2015, CORTES RESIDENTS, CHECK YOUR VOTING CARDS
There have been some errors made in our riding in assigning polling stations to voters. For example several people living in Whaletown have Refuge Cove on their voting card. Be sure to check your voting card. If you do not have Whaletown or Manson’s Landing on the card but have some other polling area, call Bruce Gordon, who is the chief returning officer for this riding. The number is 1 866-721-7174.
The voting card does not constitute ID. You still need a piece of government issued ID with your street address on it. The best is a driver’s licence or BC identification Card. Otherwise show 2 pieces of ID, one of which must have your address on it.
If your ID does not have your current address, take an oath. Show 2 pieces of ID and have someone who knows you attest to your address. This person must show proof of identity and and address, be registered in the same polling division and attest for only one person.
You can vote at the Elections Canada Office in Merecroft Village in Campbell River any time between now and October 13th. This is a good option.
Voting day on Cortes is October 19th. It’s worth it.
