Sponsored by the Cortes Island Museum and Marnie’s Books, Carrie Saxifrage introduced her book to a packed house. Originally the event was to be in the gardens outside the COOP, but it was held in Mansons Hall because of the possibility of showers.
Carrie read several chapters and parts of her book while Norm Gibbons and Monica Nawrocki, both published authors, also contributed a chapter from Carrie’s book. The readings were sensitive, at times humorous, and with an undertow of urgency depicting Carries deep love and concern for our planet. (Her subtitle is “Coming Ashore in a World Adrift.)
Carrie remained to sign copies. You will be able to purchase Carrie’s book at Marnie’s Books outside the Natural Food Coop in Mansons Landing, downtown Cortes.
