On July 20th, 2015 Quadra RCMP received a report of an attempted fraud. A person claiming to be from Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) advised the person that they owed money and that they may be getting arrested. When the caller calls the phone number provided it actually goes to voice mail stating that person is from CRA. There is a similar fraud in which a person claims to be from the FBI. The FBI does not operate in Canada. These are both frauds. Do not give them money, credit card numbers, or any personal information about you.
On July 24th, 2015 Quadra RCMP arrested a male for trafficking and located an amount of heroin. The investigation continues and charges are expected to be laid.
On July 18th, 2015 Quadra RCMP received information regarding a suspect that was on Quadra Island that had allegedly committed the offence of sexual interference at another community on Vancouver Island. The male was located and arrested on Quadra and transported to Campbell River. The investigation continues.
On July 23rd, 2015 Quadra RCMP received a complaint regarding an intoxicated person passed out behind the grocery store in Heriot Bay. The male was uncooperative and unable to care for himself so he was transported to Campbell River and provided lodgings until sober.
