Now that the oyster shell dust has finally settled, here are the statistics for SEAFEST 2015. 85 volunteers representing local growers, the WiFi Society, and just regular folks supported, helped, prepped and served 8,688 oysters, plus 840 Oysters Rockefeller and 125 lbs of clams onto 750 plates. Our total income was $11,834 which included $960 in donations from Strathcona Regional District, vendors and the Nuts To You Company. Included in our expenses of $9,602 was $4,314 paid back to local business and $2,759 to local shellfish growers, plus $810 to musicians and entertainers. So the last hurrah goes again to you Cortes--a remarkable community that supports this amazing day with such generosity.
See you next year…. John and Kristen
