Have you been thru Grandmothers Grove lately? The bird song throughout the forest. the critters awake, wrapping your arms round an ancient douglas fir, and then a refreshing swim in Carrington lagoon makes it a most lovely activity for a Sunday morning!
Calling out all youth to join us for our monthly stroll thru the Children's Forest Sunday, June 7th. What will we observe happening in the forest this month? We have been recording our observations every month since last November. Each month has brought a different find and adventure!
We have had branches crashing and snowball fights, cracking the ice in the lagoon for crazy kids to "swim" in, chocolate egg hunt, hiking up James creek, splashing thru deep mud puddles, salmon skeletons, red legged frogs, and chanterelle mushrooms...to name but a few!
Join us Sunday, June 7th from 9 am- 12 noon. Please pack a lunch and a a water bottle. Children 7 years of age or younger bring along an adult, and please leave your 4 legged pal at home.
Because the young musicians concert is also happening June 7th , we are starting our hike early at 9 am. Hope to see you there!
This monthly nature study day is offered by The Forest Trust for the Children of Cortes Island. Please check us out at: corteschildrensforesttrust.org
