Friends of Cortes Island
The Friends of Cortes Island Society is excited to welcome Helen Hall as our new Stewardship Program Coordinator!
In this role, Helen will oversee the management of our Marine, Stream, and Lake Stewardship projects as well as our Regional District Parks maintenance contract.
As the scope of our work has exceeded the capacity of one staff person, we are thrilled to welcome new energy and expertise to the FOCI team.
Helen is a professional ecologist with over twenty years experience of undertaking biodiversity conservation and stewardship work, and developing and running community outreach programs. Helen also has a strong background in fundraising and working with volunteer groups. She has worked both in the local government and the not-for-profit sector in the UK, as well as spending time working with a variety of conservation and environmental organizations based in BC.
Helen is thrilled to have been offered the position, and is looking forward to applying her skills and knowledge to co-ordinating FOCI’s stewardship programs, and helping to make a difference to Corte’s precious local environment.
Thanks to all of the outstanding people who applied for this position and thank you to the community for your ongoing support of our stewardship and education programs.
