The Old Schoolhouse Art Gallery
2015 Annual Members' Show
Friday August 21st ~ Sunday August 30th

Dear Gallery Members and Island friends,

The Old Schoolhouse Art Gallery 2015 Annual Members' Show is on the two weekends between Friday August 21st and Sunday August 30th. Your coordinating committee this year is Kathleen Horne, Caz Ratcliffe, Oriane Lee Johnston, and Lynn Marttila.

Inspired by Caz's photos from her time in the artist community of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, this past winter, our theme for the Members' Show is

An Artists' Feast

We're imagining The Artists' Feast will present diverse offerings of nourishment and beauty. Use the mediums, materials and content that inspire your art-making process. We know that each person's creative expression feeds the spirit in all of us, so we enthusiastically invite your submissions ~ all media are welcome!

Here's how you can participate and exhibit your work:

First of all ~ become a member of the Gallery. As a member you will receive both updates and invitations to special events. New and renewing memberships, $10. You can pay at the Gallery during any of the season's shows. Or mail a cheque, payable to the Old Schoolhouse Gallery, to Janet Turpin. Box 203. Whaletown. V0P 1Z0

Email Oriane Lee soon, with your intention to join the Feast. No need to ponder for long ~ just do it! Feel free to call her with questions, 935-0255, or Caz, 935-6777.

At a later date, sign up for a shift to tend the Gallery during the Show hours ~ it's fun and rewarding! Lynn will coordinate the schedule; she'll send a separate email at a later date with choice of days/times. Then she'll follow-up with details about opening & closing the gallery, selling work, etc.

Bring finger food, sparkling water or wine for the Opening Night.
Friday August 21st, 6 - 9 p.m.
On Friday evening August 28th, we've planned Oriane Lee's presentation and fundraiser: Africa, Horses & Ancestors.

Art cards may be displayed and sold at the Gallery all through the season. Contact Janet Turpin, and please provide your own display rack or stand.

Please read the attached info sheet; covering artist's commissions, title tags, etc. We will send further emails with details of artwork drop-off times, which are Monday evening 17th and Tuesday morning 18th. Submit up to three pieces, and depending on space we'll do our best to include all, though no guarantees!

In May, you'll find a postcard in your mail box, with the season's show calendar. And stay tuned to the Tideline for announcements and updates! We're looking forward to including your artwork in The Artists' Feast this year!
Bon appétit from Caz, Kathleen, Lynn, Oriane Lee ( )

Everyone invited to join the OSAG. A goal of the Gallery this season is to increase membership.
