Peter Henbury, WCC Secretary
This year’s Plant Sale and Workbee will take place on Saturday, May 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Volunteers are needed!
The Plant Sale is the WCC’s biggest annual fundraiser, so we are asking our members not only to come and purchase potted plants, vegetable and flower seedlings and plant starts, but also to contribute some for the sale. If you want to donate plants or help sell them, please contact Rose Fitcyk (0224).
This is also the day for the Annual Workbee to help maintain and spruce up the Gorge Hall. Volunteers are needed for exterior work like clearing the roof and gutters, doing some painting on the outside walls, trimming the area around the well and the ditch alongside the Hall, as well as the grassed areas. Volunteers are also needed for inside work like cleaning the chairs, generally cleaning up the kitchen and hall spaces, refreshing some of the paint work, etc. Wear your old clothes and bring some of the tools or equipment you think you might need.
Traditionally, lunch is provided for those volunteering to help out. So, in addition to looking for volunteers to help the day of the workbee, we are also looking for cooks and bakers to contribute their skills/offerings to nourish the work crew. If you would like to contribute by making a soup, baking bread, sweets or some other specialty please contact Jenn (0042) or Helen (6406).
