Lynne Jordan, Cortes Museum
Coming to Cortes Wed., April 29, sponsored by Cortes Museum - David Hancock, noted biologist, conservationist, writer & publisher. An enthusiastic & dynamic speaker, David has a fine collection of amazing photos from his many years of studying west coast & Arctic wildlife. He has published books on whales, seals, seabirds, grouse & northern raptors. Before he started Hancock House Publishers, David was a pilot & wildlife film producer, specializing in Native cultures & wildlife of the coast & north.
He recently completed a book on eagles, The Bald Eagle of Alaska, BC, & Washington, & another on northwest coast Natives, Tlingit, Their Art & Culture. Currently David is undertaking studies of northwest coast bald eagles & working on a sandhill crane breeding project. This great presentation leads us into the Cortes Museum's Spring Migration Birding event on Sat., May 2, meeting at the Museum 9 am or in Whaletown at 286 SeaVista Rd. 9:30 am.
