Each of us contributes in some unique way to our island community - the causes we care about, the time we invest, the people we bring together. Cortes Island's Official Community Plan spells out a number of aspirations and a Community Foundation is a unique and effective way to fulfill some of these dreams and enable people to contribute where their communities need it most.
Community Foundations are charitable organizations recognized by the CRA bringing together donors wanting to give back to community, with local organizations striving to build healthy vital communities.
Islanders interested in learning more about how a Community Foundation could benefit Cortes organizations and fulfill our O.C.P., and other community initiatives, are invited to an information session on Saturday April 18th 3:00 – 5:00 pm at the Linnaea Farm Education Centre with Kim Bater senior consultant, Community Foundations of Canada.
