CCHA Family Support - Desta
Does your child (0-19) have trouble participating in extracurricular programs? Have you stopped trying to get them involved because it just doesn't seem to work out?
Due to Cortes Island's remote location and small population, child and youth focused recreational opportunities are few and precious. Ensuring all island child and youth programs are accessible to all island children and youth is the cornerstone of an inclusive community. We all benefit if everyone is included.
The CCHA Every Child Program provides funding for an extra facilitator to support children who have challenges integrating into extra-curricular programs.
Different kids have different strengths and some need more help than others to be able to show up as their best selves in a group setting - sometimes showing up withdrawn/reluctant, sometimes acting out.
CONFIDENTIAL, respectful, support is available.

This is a project of the Cortes Community Health Association Family Support Program. It is funded by the Strathcona Regional District Grant in Aid and Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island.
