Literacy Now Melissa
Literacy Now welcomes Linda Rogers and Rick van Krugel for an evening of poetry and music that will delight and inspire our hearts and minds!
Linda Rogers and Rick van Krugel have been legal (married) collaborators in silly and serious matters for longer than they can (care to) remember. They have written songs for kids and childish adults and written and illustrated books together. Linda, a poet, novelist, lyricist and journalist, had been president of the League of Poets and the Federation of BC Writers. An advocate for kid's (w)rights and international literacy, she is also a Canada's People's Poet and recipient, among others, of the Livesay, Arc, Leacock, Montreal, Cardiff, Montreal and Bridport Awards. Rick, often acknowledged as the most exciting white blues mandolinist of his generation, is also a mean singer. Together they blend their voices in poetry and music that brings empathy and humour to the human question.
