The Cortes Island Business and Tourism was formed as a community group to drive economic and holistic community development for local businesses as well as to initiate activities that promote business and the island as a whole. Initially we came together to promote Cortes Island as a year round tourist destination that leaves a lasting positive impact on visitors and supports a vibrant local economy.
CIBAT is a standing committee of the Discovery Islands Chamber of Commerce. We represent a wide variety of rental accommodations, eco-tourism providers, shops, restaurants, grocery stores, marinas, and other services that cater to visitors. Businesses involved in other industry sectors are also welcome. The success of this non-profit organization depends on diverse and active membership
. Members of CIBAT are required to become members of the DICC
Membership fees are structured to be affordable, with easy payment options. I.e. cash, cheque. We're working on credit card, PayPal, and EMT options for the near future.
By becoming a CIBAT member, not only can you be a partner in creating a stronger economic future for our island, but you will receive the following benefits in 2015:
• Tourism trade show representation and joint publicity initiatives in print/on-line/radio
• You will have a voice at meetings and representation with B.C. Ferries, B.C.Transit
Authority, local and Provincial Government and other service providers whose decisions
influence our economic well-being.
