For this viewer it was exciting to see many new members' contributions and I’ll mention just a few. The black and white print by Lynn Marttila was satisfying and as a onlooking composer in the gallery said, “I could write music to it”. The Catfish by Diane Bourget is in your face and powerful. Laura Balducci’s pieces sing lyrical and fun, while Catherine Bushe’s watercolor is free, accomplished, and effective.
Although John Preston had other “realistic” photos of this Island’s magic in this show, his treatment of the the Cedar trees shows a pushing the envelope of photography into the painterly world and this resonated for me.
This is a must see show
